The Story
WHO ARE WE?
Mikaela Ostrander
(Clock Hour Committee Vice President, Lead Trainer, Education Specialist)
Hi, I’m Mikaela Ostrander, and I’ve spent my career dedicated to understanding and supporting children’s growth. I hold an undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Master’s in Special Education, which have provided me with a strong foundation for working with children and addressing their unique needs.
In the summer of 2023, I was introduced to Carl Jung’s 16 personality types, and it completely transformed the way I approach teaching, parenting, and child development. I began to see how personality dynamics influence not only behavior but also how children learn, connect, and thrive. This discovery inspired me to develop tools and strategies to meet children’s diverse needs at a foundational level, with the ultimate goal of reducing misdiagnosis and unnecessary medication.
I am the Founder and President of Inspirations Dance Studio, a nonprofit in Spokane, WA and was established in 2014. While Inspirations began as a dance studio, it has gradually grown to add educational services. This year, we’re excited to announce that Inspirations has been approved to offer clock hours, allowing us to provide training for educators, parents, and professionals working with children. Empowering individuals to better understand and meet the needs of children remains at the heart of our mission.
I’ve had the privilege of working alongside a talented team of professionals that are deeply knowledgeable and experienced in Jungian Analytical Psychology. Together, we’ve collaborated extensively, drawing on our collective expertise to develop and refine practical tools. I’ve had the opportunity to trial these strategies firsthand, and as a team, we’ve dedicated countless hours to creating approaches that truly make a difference.
I’m excited to share this knowledge with you through our team at MindChild. Together, we can implement strategies that create supportive, harmonious environments where every child can succeed. By understanding the personalities of both children and adults, we can transform behavior, build stronger connections, and foster meaningful learning experiences.
Let’s work together to meet children where they are and help them reach their full potential!
